Subjected to his own work by Scathises immoral ally Vetis, in an attempt to make a weapon capable of easily taking on Nelem, Vidales is a very changed man.

Originally an aerospace and robotics engineer whom had unwittingly worked for them under the guise of a I.E.D.L subsidiary, he was quickly rounded up with his colleagues and put through torturous testing in their attempt to fuse man with machine. Out of the 27 people collected, and under the supervision of Marcus Marx and the corrupt Scathis Nalariid Telfor, he was reborn as a Machine. A weapon of war.

Pleased with the outcome, Vetis quickly began to forcefully train him in using his bodies abilities regardless of his protests. They taught him how to shapeshift, how to fight, and most importantly of all how to give in to the insatiable hunger that would soon come with his new life.

Such things soon fell apart when Vid managed to escape with the aid of several I.E.D.L spies, allowing the former scientist a chance to run and hide on the vast planet Thereia, but always with Vetis and Scathis in pursuit.

Personality

Before the events that left him changed, Vid always had a smile upon his face and was always friendly and welcoming, even when unhappy; and it was very rare for him to be unhappy. But in more recent times his cheerful disposition took a downward spiral as he closed his emotions off to the world, leaving nothing but a cold silent shell to all those he crosses paths with.

With very little left of his human body, he often continually damns himself and Vetis for the struggles forced upon him, withdrawing even further from the world in these moments of haltered. Even the most insignificant of things can trigger this behaviour, and it is almost impossible to bring him out of such a decline with words alone. It is not uncommon to see him tearful at such times.

However, in the right circumstances it is possible for his old personality to shine through, especially when he feels a great need to assist others.

In a fight Vid is quick, calculating, and remorseless. All three traits afforded to him by his time at Vetis, and the cranial implants that allow his brain to function much like a computer. He is not above using these to avoid capture, or to disable someone whom is a threat.

Abilities/Body

Being one of the scientists that originally worked upon the technology for his now-body, Vid knows the inner workings right down to the literal wire. While this gives him many advantages, it also holds him back in combat sometimes as he becomes picky and worried about damage. And while it may look like he would not be susceptible to any kinds of physical damage, his torso houses many life-support systems and mechanical components, that manage the materials his limbs are made from.

Generally speaking, Vid's body is able to shift in form and viscosity, allowing him to make simple weapons or to take on useful forms that would better aid him in a certain environment. This is achieved through the use of a nanobot infused substance called Nanacite and controlled electrical signals. There are of course limits to his abilities however, for instance, he is unable to make complicated weapons such as guns (as any amount of material that leaves his body turns to a liquid form instantly), nor can he assume a form that would require more mass than he currently has. Every 'shape shift' always draws more materials from another area, and so to preserve a roughly normal shape it is always drawn from the tail first, reducing its size.

Only the lower parts of his extremities are usually somewhat see through, but there is always a vein of colour in the centre where there is a very high concentration of nanobots. His torso is always completely opaque, denoting a very dense concentration of nanobots. The see through nature of his limbs comes from a lack of nanobots being produced within his systems, due a refusal to consume matter at an accelerated rate as his body requires, this has little impact upon his abilities.

The metal parts attached to his body serve a very crucial function, not only do they allow his body to shift in forms by transmitting electrical signals and emitting containment fields, they also allow him to hold his natural form even when unconscious or 'offline'. The horns upon his head however serve as additional sensory equipment with built in ears, and slight protection, even though his skull is reinforced.

He is very susceptible to electrical attacks, not only because they would disrupt his hearts rhythm obvious, but also because it would interfere with control over his body.

Thought I would try a more simple reference this time around. Kinda looks better but then the huge wall of text in the comments is kinda. e__e Oh well!

Anyway this is one of Kingdom-Earth's main human characters for the book, some people might recognise him from this image so he is certainly a long standing character even though he has changed quite a bit. The decision to change him came from an old character whom was originally in his position, but she's going to be used as something completely different now.

One of the most unique character design I've ever seen, for showing some physical configurations without transformation.

The background story is also having quite an impact to see his adventure, that makes me want to know more about him. :D
